Vernon emergency personnel dealing with struck pedestrian

Witness said pedestrian struck "will be okay"; happened before 12:30 p.m. on 48th Avenue near 29th Street

Ambulance and emergency personnel are on-scene on 48th Avenue in Vernon, near the 29th Street intersection, after a report of a pedestrian being struck.

Vernon emergency personnel are on-scene at the north end of the city for a report of a pedestrian being struck.

The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. on 48th Avenue near the intersection with 29th Street.

A Morning Star reporter at the scene has been told by a witness that a person was struck and "will be okay."

Ambulance and Vernon Fire Rescue Services have left, and RCMP are talking to a witness.

It's believed the pedestrian was taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital for observation.
