The annual Cherry Blossom Triathlon is set for Sunday, May 4.

It will follow a clockwise loop starting at the H2O Adventure Fitness Centre on Gordon Drive. Participants will head along Casorso Road, Swamp Road, and Dehart Road before returning to Gordon Drive.

To accommodate the event, there will be some lane closures in place from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. including:

  • Right lane for northbound traffic on Gordon Drive (between Old Meadows Road and Casorso Road);
  • Eastbound traffic on Casorso Road (from Gordon Drive to Swamp Road);
  • The right-turn lane on Dehart Road onto Gordon Drive;
  • Northbound traffic on Gordon Drive (from Dehart Road to Tozer Avenue) – detour via Lakeshore Drive;
  • No left turns from Lequime Road onto Gordon Drive. Drivers can detour via Cook Road or Lexington Drive.

From 7:15 a.m. to 11 a.m., expect minor delays at these intersections where athletes will be crossing:

  • Lexington Drive and Gordon Drive;
  • Lequime Road and Gordon Drive;
  • Old Meadows Road and Gordon Drive;
  • Bartholomew Court and Dehart Road.

Traffic signals will be flashing, and traffic control personnel will be on hand to help keep things moving safely.

The parking lot in front of H2O Adventure Fitness Centre will be partially closed to make room for the race’s transition area and finish line. If you're leaving the facility during the event, use the Lequime Road exit only.

Transit stops on the east side of Gordon Drive (between Dehart Road and Casorso Road) will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Expect some service disruptions near Gordon Drive and Lequime Road from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
