A rock slide on April 1, 2025 has prompted some future scaling work on the Eakin Creek Road near Eakin Creek Provincial Park in the North Thompson Valley near Little Fort.

Rock scaling is needed following a rockslide on Eakin Creek Road, between Highway 24 and Eakin Creek Canyon Provincial Park. that happened on April 1, 2025.

Following a site inspection, Ministry of Transportation and Transit staff have determined the work is necessary.

It is scheduled to start in the coming weeks.

The Ministry of Transportation and Transit said while Eakin Creek Road is closed, the park can still be accessed via the western entrance on Highway 24.
