Video surveillance footage led to the arrest of a suspect after police received a report involving property damage at a Salmon Arm business.

The report, from a Shuswap Street business owner, was received by police at 6 a.m. on Thursday, May 16. Police were informed a window at the business had been broken and a door appeared to have been kicked in earlier that morning, though nothing had been stolen.

“Police attended and observed a rock was thrown through the window,” said Const. Andrew Hodges in a media release. “Video surveillance was reviewed and police were able to identify the suspect.”

Police obtained charge approval for one count of mischief under $5,000 against the suspect, identified as Leonard Gaze, who was remanded until May 30 for the above incident and other matters.
