A thunderstorm could be on the way for the Okanagan and Kootenays.
On Thursday morning (June 12), Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the regions, stating weather conditions are favourable to development severe thunderstorms that could produce strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
"When thunder roars, go indoors," stated the government weather agency. "Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year."
The chance of rain across the regions range from 30 to 70 per cent with wind from 20 km/h to 90 km/h, with the stronger gusts in the Kootenay region.
