A high school in Surrey had to cancel classes Friday due to "extensive graffiti" inside the building that occurred overnight.
Sullivan Heights Secondary was the site of vandalism overnight, Surrey Schools confirmed, with classes having to be cancelled Friday (June 20) due to the incident.
The district shared that inside the school there was "extensive graffiti," with just one week left of school.
"District facilities teams were called and are working to restore a welcoming and safe environment for students to conclude their school year," communication representative Rena Heer shared.
Surrey Police Service were called and are on scene investigating the incident.
"At this point we cannot conclude this to be a grad prank but rather an incident of mischief that caused property damage and has impacted school operations today," SPS's media representative Ian MacDonald said.
