ORIGINAL STORY

Residents in The Rise and Okanagan Hills areas of Vernon are under a boil water notice.

The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) and Interior Health issued the notice Tuesday morning, April 29, after pumps at a nearby pump station lost power due to a local outage, causing a loss of water pressure. A generator is now powering the pumps supplying water to the area.

A map of the affected properties can be viewed in the above photo gallery.

All affected residents should boil their water for at least one minute when preparing food, drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or ice or brushing their teeth.

Updates can be found at rdno.ca/news (filter by water notices) and the RDNO's Facebook page

Questions can be directed to the RDNO utilities department at 250-550-3700.
