Bill Kershaw was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal for his inspirational and outstanding service to his community and to the North Thompson Valley by Peter Milobar during the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo. Kershaw is the current president of the Barriere Chamber of Commerce, former director for Area ‘O’ for the Thompson Nicola Regional District for over 20 years and currently sits on the Community Futures board. He is also a long-time volunteer for the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo.
The Coronation Medal commemorates the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III as King of Canada. Eligible candidates must meet national criteria having made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region, or community of Canada or have made an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.
Milobar acknowledged Kershaw’s long service in the North Thompson when he presented the medal to him at the NTFF and Rodeo grounds over the Labour Day weekend.
