The Barriere Seniors Society (BSS) ‘Jump into Summer 50/50 Raffle’ was a huge success according to president Mary-Lou Jones.
"We were thrilled with the support for the 50/50 draw this year," Jones said. "We certainly want to thank everyone for their support! The winner, Marina Brem was announced on Friday June 6 during Bingo Night and she received $2,845.00, half of the pot with the other half going to support the seniors. She kindly donated $800.00 back to the centre.”
The Barriere Seniors Society has been working for Barriere area residents since 1976.
“I just love this valley, our community, and the people here which is why I am involved with the seniors’ centre," Jones said. "We work collectively with other groups and the District of Barriere to provide a nice place for people to gather together. We know that most people appreciate what we do and that is what makes what we do so rewarding.”
