The Royal Canadian Legion #242 presented a number of local groups and organizations with donation cheques on Saturday, February 22 and the Barriere Outdoor Club (BOC) showed their appreciation for the continued local partnership over the years. The legion presented a cheque for $1,238.00 to the BOC.
“On behalf of the Barriere Outdoor Club, I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your ongoing support. Each year, we work to provide memorable and educational outdoor experiences for youth and the broader community through a variety of outdoor activities and programs,” said Mary MacLennan, vice-president of the BOC. “Your support has been instrumental in the success and smooth operation of these initiatives. Thanks to your generous contributions, we can continue offering these valuable opportunities.”
MacLennan said the funds will be used to build a lean-to attached to the C-can for equipment storage and to support the ongoing maintenance of the Barriere Forks Trails which are “crucial for our skiing, showshoeing and hiking programs” ensuring the trails will remain safe, well-groomed, and accessible to all users.
