Every year over 10 million tons of plastics end up in our oceans directly, and through rivers and lakes flowing to our oceans.
By 2050 there will be more plastics than fish in our oceans reports the World Economic Forum.
Causing a slow painful death plastics kill birds, fish, dolphins and sharks.
Fishing line, nets, traps, cigarette buts and other garbage add to the problems in our rivers, lakes and our oceans.
Oceana reports “Recycling won’t end this disaster: a meager nine per cent of all the plastic ever produced has been recycled.”
