Two trucks, two firearms and a Bobcat were stolen in an apparent break and enter of a residence on Little Green Lake Road this winter.
100 Mile House RCMP Sgt. Brian Lamb said the incident was reported to RCMP on May 13. Sometime after December of 2024, the residence, located in the 6000 block of Little Green Lake Road, was broken into. Lamb said extensive damage was caused to the inside of the residence, and two firearms were taken.
"Also taken from the property was a white 2013 Ford F350 with B.C. license plate RX2328, a black 2007 Ford F150 with B.C. license plate RJ2468 and a 2003 Bobcat T250," Lamb said.
Vehicles pulled over for lack of insurance
On May 13, 2025, BC Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle on Cedar Avenue after queries showed the vehicle had no valid insurance.
Lamb said that after speaking with the driver, evidence of impairment by drugs was observed. In addition, the driver did not hold a valid driver's license.
Officers issued the driver a 24-hour suspension from driving and violation tickets for having no insurance, no driver's license and a failure to wear a seatbelt. In addition, Lamb said the vehicle, which had numerous safety defects, was removed from the road and impounded, pending a vehicle inspection.
Three days later, in a separate incident on Cedar Avenue, officers again stopped a vehicle after determining the registered owner did not have a valid driver's license. Lamb said officers spoke with the vehicle's driver and confirmed she did not have a valid driver's license, and evidence of impairment due to drug use was suspected.
"The female was issued a 24-hour suspension from driving and issued a violation ticket for no driver's license," Lamb said.
Attempted theft lands vehicle in ditch
An unknown thief attempted to steal a vehicle using a rope or cable in the middle of the night on May 14.
Lamb said the incident occurred in the 5900 block of Highway 24 sometime around 1 a.m. RCMP believe that someone attempted to remove the vehicle by towing it with a cable or rope, which resulted in the vehicle going into the ditch.
"Significant damage was caused to the vehicle as a result," Lamb noted.
BC Highway Patrol arrests man with outstanding warrant
On May 14, 2025, BC Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle on Highway 97 near Lac La Hache after queries showed the vehicle had no insurance.
Lamb said that two different numbered license plates were observed on the vehicle. After officers spoke with the male driver, it was determined he had an outstanding warrant for driving while prohibited. He was additionally found to still be prohibited from driving.
The driver was arrested and held for a bail hearing before subsequently being released to attend court at a later date. The vehicle was impounded.
Semi truck downs power lines
RCMP received a report of a semi truck towing heavy-duty equipment that had come into contact with power lines on McDermid Road on May 15. RCMP attended along with CVSE and determined the towed heavy equipment of the truck had come into contact with the powerlines, damaging them and a pole.
There were no injuries sustained in this incident and BC Hydro was advised of the damage.
Ticket issued by check stop
On May 17, RCMP conducted a check stop on Canim Hendrix Lake Road. Police interacted with several motorists. Of note, Lamb said RCMP issued a violation ticket to one driver for no insurance and issued a 24-hour suspension to another driver for impairment due to drug impairment.
Rock thrown through business window
On Monday, May 19, RCMP received a report of a broken window of a business in the 90 block of Highway 97. Lamb said upon investigation, officers determined a rock had been thrown through the window, but no entry into the business was made. This incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m.
