Day one of the 2025 Indoor Spring Classic Rodeo in Williams Lake has come and gone and is sure to have left audiences wanting more.
Just one bull rider out of 13 managed managed to hold on long enough to get his name on the board, and that is Mavrik Studley with 74 points.
Of the seven bare back contestants, three brought home a cash prize, with Jared Marshall taking the lead at 77 points, Casey Tomson in second with 70 points and Christoph Muigg with 62.
Eight junior steer riders played their hand, with Reid Rife collecting 69 points, Jaxon Styrn with 64 and Sebastian Johnson with 63.
Nine open barrel racers sped by, with Teresa Pederson getting the fastest time of the evening at 12.197 seconds. Pamela Morrison and Lyndy Frieson were not far behind, with a time of 12.287 seconds and 12.437 seconds respectively.
Following the open barrel racers were five junior and five peewee barrel racers. The fastest juniors of the evening were Selena Kidney at 12.495 and Braidy Hinsche at 12.693, though Kidney got a five second penalty for knocking a barrel. The fasts peewee of the evening was Ellie Hill at 12.709 followed by Annie Gordon at 14.021.
The rodeo continues Saturday and will go again at 1 p.m. with the same order of events, starting with wild horse racing and ending with bull riding. The rodeo is organized by the Interior Rodeo Event Association.
