Vancouver Symphony Orchestra just added Barbie to its popular Movies In Concert series of spring/summer performances.
The 2023 comedy/fantasy film will play Wednesday, July 16 at Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver, with live orchestra.
Other movies in concert are Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (April 24-26), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (July 3-4) and Encanto (July 18-19).
For Barbie, the VSO will perform both the score and pop songs from the movie soundtrack. Fans of all ages are invited to sing and dance the night away, says a post on vancouversymphony.ca, where tickets are sold for $31.50 and up.
"Barbie and Ken are having the time of their lives in the colourful and seemingly perfect world of Barbie Land. However, when they get a chance to go to the real world, they soon discover the joys and perils of living among humans."
On June 11, a VSO Game On! concert brings "stunning symphonic music from an unprecedented lineup of blockbuster video games" and HD video, followed on July 11 by Distant Worlds: Music from FINAL FANTASY, by composer Masayoshi Soken.
