Young authors rewarded for their efforts

The winners of the Barriere ronaldomanosa annual Christmas story contest division for grade 4 to 7 were Barriere Elementary School students Lolah Kennedy, Ryleigh Jalava, and Nick Wittner.

Thank you to all the youngsters who took the time to write and submit their stories, as well as to the teachers and parents who provided support to the young authors and made sure their submissions arrived on time.

The winners revieved $25 for first place, $15 for second, and $10 for third from the Star/Journal. All of the winners also received literacy gift packages from Barriere and Area Literacy Outreach funded from their Raise A Reader program that included new story books and personal notepads.
