An estimated 136 vehicles turned out for a second ‘freedom convoy’ drive through the streets of Barriere on Sunday, Feb. 13, in solidarity of the freedom convoy in Ottawa protesting mandates related to the ongoing pandemic.
Numerous large and small vehicles, including a horse and rider, gathered along Airfield Road before heading out at approximately 10 a.m. to travel through area subdivisions and up Barriere Town Road.
There was plenty of honking horns, and drivers and passengers cheering as loud as they could.
Some residents complained about the noise, and a few folks who live a couple of kilometers outside of the municipality said they could hear the horns even when inside their houses.
Organizers reported a large number of supporters also drove down from Clearwater to participate, some from as far away as Blue River.
