PHOTOS: 5K Foam Fest lathers runners during annual race on Cloverdale Fairgrounds

Next year's race already 9% sold

A fun, foam race returned to Cloverdale last weekend.

The 5K Foam Fest—an obstacle course fun run—was held on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds June 14.

Participants were treated to a five-kilometre run complete with the equivalent of bouncy castle foam pits, slides, and numerous other obstacles.

According to the website the5kfoamfest.com, racers were promised to get “foamy, muddy and wet" by the end of the race.”

Runners had to navigate more than 2 million cubic feet of foam that was pumped out during the Fairgrounds contest.

The 5K race is all about fun and foam, and lots of it, and only mostly about the many different obstacles participants had to navigate through, or not—runners were able to skip the obstacles in the race, if they wished.

The foam fest is “an exciting challenge for experienced and beginner runners alike,” noted the website. The race “is not a hardcore run” and it has “a festival atmosphere offering activities for all ages.”

Next year’s race is set for June 13, 2026. But the location is noted as “to be announced.”

Despite that, 9 per cent of race tickets have already been sold. The current price is set at $50 with tiered pricing in effect based on how close to race day it is. Prices will jump up to the next tier likely in January and rise from there to their top end of $140, if not sold out first.
