The Upper Room Mission (URM) has been serving meals to city's most vulnerable for more than 40 years. But this is the first year it will is putting on a fundraising dinner to continue to feed a growing need.

Called the Country Harvest of Hope, the URM fundraiser takes place Friday, Sept. 27 at the Coldstream Community Hall from 6 to 10 p.m.

"Surprisingly, it's the first ever fundraising dinner that the Upper Room Mission has hosted in our 43 years of serving Vernon's community," said organizer Sherry Guenther.

"We continue to provide for the needs of struggling people."

The evening of fun, food, and festivities includes a barbecue dinner, live auction and dance to the toe-tappin’ tunes of The Sonny Boys. Plus a silent auction, which is already live at https://benefitauction.ca/auction/234-the-upper-room/.

"Gather your posse and mosey on down to the Coldstream Community Hall for a night to remember. It’s all for a great cause—supporting the vital work of Vernon’s Upper Room Mission."

For tickets visit upperroommission.ca or stop by with cash or cheque to the URM at 3403 27th Ave.
