Issues change over time, but personal values and core beliefs endure. I believe that relevant, precise and timely communication is key to the effective functioning of any system, and the district of Barriere is a system that works for its citizens. Therefore, the most relevant skill — and commitment — that I will bring to City Council is ‘open and consistent communication’ from my seat on Council to the community.
My graduate degree in communications gives me the theory, while my professional background in public affairs gives me the first-hand experience to deliver on this promise. I propose —
Accountability to the citizens: Each councillor creates a page on the City website that introduces them to the community and outlines their commitment to the citizens of Barriere
Monthly reports to constituents via the Barriere ronaldomanosa about what district is working on: One councillor each month highlights the project(s) they’re working on
Each councillor leads a committee that aligns with their existing life in the community, thus translating their personal interest into civic service; for example, a Little League coach could chair the Parks and Recreation committee
My commitment is to listen actively, speak mindfully, and act with respect and integrity.
