I’m the original event planner of the Mother’s Day brunch for the Vernon Jubilee Hospital auxiliary that was being run by teens for youth mental health.
I was hoping to send a few words about Ellie Cucheran.
Beyond her original youth chair contributions, I was in a life altering car accident recently (severe concussion and wheelchair bound) and was unable to complete any remaining planning work for the gala.
Ellie - as a volunteer teenager - willingly took on all of my front end work and did a phenomenal job with everything from reaching out to businesses for sponsorship, working with multiple high schools to organize entertainers, planning the entire program, working on guest lists, creating the seating plan, finding great families for the sponsored tickets, running PR and so much more.
She is a superhero.
There is absolutely no way this event could’ve been such a success - let alone take place - if it weren’t for her heroic efforts.
She more than earned her title of Gala chair!
Very impressed with this highschooler!
