OMG! I made a mistake. Shhhhh…don’t tell Bob or Debbie. A couple of weeks ago I reported that our Fun Night on July 18th had a shot gun start but I gave the wrong time. The correct time is 5:00 pm. If you haven’t signed up yet please do so in the next day or two by calling the club house at Chinook Cove Golf. The cost is $55 per person and includes green fees, cart rental, prizes and supper. The theme is Hallowe’en so the sky is the limit when it comes to costumes.
Enough about the future. Let’s talk about the past…Tuesday, July 4th. 36 ladies came out to golf. Quality Contractors, Sundown Construction, Steve Passmore of Sun Life Financial, Kelly McNabney of TriPeaks Physio sponsored the low net/gross prizes. Here’s who won them . Flight 1 low gross went to Kelly McNabney and low net went to Donna Salle. Flight 2 low gross was won by Darleen LeCerf and low net was won by Trish Thompson. In Flight 3 the low gross winner was Allison Thiessen and the low net winner was Kate Schilling. Flight 4 low gross was Sam LeCerf and second low gross was Karina Scott. Remember it is called low GROSS but that is Good (not the other gross). They all had better scores than me. My score was gross.
There were loads of Pot winners. In Flight 1 Kelly McNabney had two Birdies and Jan Advent had one. Evelyn Lucas had a Deuce in Flight 3 and Allison Thiessen had a Chip-In. Liesje Gough and Michelle Quigley shared the Chip-In pot for Flight 4. Allison Thiessen used her putter 14 times to win Low Putts by retro while Cathy McNeil won the Most Putts with 31.
We have prizes for putting and prizes for driving. Prizes for being close to the pin and prizes for being far away from the pin. Long Drive prizes went to Kelly McNabney (Station House Restaurant and Armour Mountain Office), Emma Schilling (the Local of Louis Creek Artisan Market), Kathy Cook (Barriere IDA), Anita Hill (Barriere Motor Inn), and Cathy McNeil (Barriere Timber Mart). The Long Putt winners were Susan Newberry (Thompson Valley Awards), Lorretta Gammel (AG Foods), Liesje Gough (Blue Moon Galeria), Allison Thiessen (Rainer Custom Cutting) and Michelle Quigley (Sam’s Pizza). KPs (closest to the pin) prizes were picked up by Kelly McNabney (Cindy Leibel Real Estate and the Smiths), Evelyn Lucas (Salle Ranch) and Liesje Gough (Stamer Logging). KPs in 2 (closest to the pin in two strokes) prizes were won by Karina Scott (EBL Ventures), Jan Advent (HUB International) and Lorretta Gammel (Just U). Numerous people won the prize from Drake Cremations on Hole 7 for sending their ball into the gully. Some of them actually won two prizes because they did it twice.
Although the day was fairly hot a lovely breeze came up in the late afternoon and the golfing was perfect (as far as the weather was concerned). We finished dinner with birthday cake to celebrate our July birthday ladies - Wanda Amos, Barb Smith and Debbie Ross. Have I ever mentioned to you how much I love cake?
Signing off for now. See you at the course.
