Folks who live in the Lower North Thompson will be glad to hear that the well known and much enjoyed Heffley Creek Coffeehouses will be starting up again in the Heffley Creek Community Hall this Saturday, Feb. 26, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.

Hall manager Deb McDougall says everyone in the community is excited to once again be able to enjoy this popular event.

“We’ll start at 5:30 p.m., with a concession supper consisting of freshly prepared homemade chili, dogs, and vegetarian options,” said McDougall, “The show will start promptly at 6:30 p.m.”

She explains the coffeehouses invite entertainers of any kind “to come on down and perform”.

“However, the performers have to keep in mind this is a ‘family’ show,” said McDougall, “Music, poetry, whatever. We welcome talented volunteers to come on in and perform in an equal time slot for our wonderful and friendly audience.”

Admission for the audience is only $3, with youth under 15 and entertainers admitted for free. Tickets for 50/50 will also be sold (cash transactions only) with the draw happening before 8 p.m.

“We are excited to be open again, but so that we can continue to hold events we ask that everyone bring their vax passports and masks,” added McDougall.

The Heffley Creek Community Rec Association owns and maintains the hall mainly through their fundraising efforts. The hall can be found at 6995 Old Hwy 5, Kamloops. For more information check out Heffley Creek Community Hall on Facebook.
