The annual PAC Fun Day held at Barriere Elementary (BES) on Monday, June 27, proved to be a tremendous success for all concerned.
“Our amazing PAC worked tirelessly to purchase items and set up stations so the students at BES could have a fun day doing activities and games,” reported school principal Mikel Brogan.
“One of the main highlights of the day was the local fire department coming to the school and misting the kids with the fire hose, and helping cool down the crowd in the almost 33° degree heat.”
An especially memorable event was watching Barriere Fire Chief Ashley Wohgemuth doing cartwheels along with the kids.
Brogan reports the day was especially fun and special this year due to having not been able to hold the event during the past two years due to COVID-19 restrictions.
“The kids had an amazing time,” said the principal, adding a big thank you to all those who came out to assist, including; Barriere Youth Soccer Association, the Barriere Fire Department for cooling everyone off, AG Foods, Interior Savings, District of Barriere for early splash pad access, the school staff for braving the heat, and the parents and volunteers who supported the event.
“And thank you to all the students for their smiles and reminding us why we do fun days,” said Brogan.
