Mark you calendar to attend the Grand Opening of the Barriere Early Years Centre and celebrate Family Day at the Family Fun Night happening this Sunday, Feb. 12, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Barriere Ridge.
Yellowhead Community Services is hosting the Early Years Centre Grand Opening in conjunction with the Family Fun Night says Adrienne Pullen, Success By 6 and Early Years Community Development Coordinator for Barriere.
“Myself and the Barriere Early Years network of dedicated program facilitators and mangers are working towards improving access to child development information and education for parents, caregivers and service providers,” said Pullen.
“Improvements in the common areas of the Barriere Ridge are currently underway and are due to be completed before the event.”
This area will serve as a family friendly and culturally inclusive Early Years Resource and Information space.
This includes having areas designated for sharing information such as: Community events, food security, sports and recreation, literacy and education, cultural connections, parent-child and childcare programs, family supports, health and hevelopment, Yellowhead Community Services, counselling services, and Ministry of Children and Family Development services.
In addition to the resources and information, the Early Years Centre component to the Barriere Ridge facility includes licensed childcare and preschool services, scheduled programming for children and families each week, and a family-friendly public space with toys, books, arts and crafts.
Yellowhead Community Services reception staff are also available to answer questions about local services for children and families Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Make sure you attend the Family Fun Night event on Feb. 12, featuring Uncle Chris The Clown, music and dance, bouncy castle, concession, parents quiet room, toddler baby room, movie, and much more.
