The Thompson Nicola Regional Library-Barriere Branch is embracing spring with some fun events.
Pam Rudd, librarian in Barriere, is looking forward to families enjoying the popular Story Walk at Fadear Park.
“I love looking outside the library windows to see families reading at each stop on the story walk. We have a newly installed feature story called The First Day: A Story Of Courage, by Katherena Vermette. In honour of April 5th’s Day of Sucwentwecw: our shared learning is embedded in memory, history, and story through courage, wisdom, and local Indigenous perspectives.”
Rock painting is another ongoing activity for all ages at the library in Barriere. The sign there reads: “Welcome to our kindness rock garden. Take one for inspiration, share one for motivation or leave one to help our garden grow.”

CanFilmDay is a massive, one-day coast-to-coast-to-coast celebration of Canadian cinema on Wed. April 17 from 6-8 p.m. for adults. The screening will be the film Rosie.
Come celebrate spring and Earth Day by learning to create environmentally safe anti-bacterial cleanser and toilet bombs on Tues. April 23 from 3-4 p.m. at the Barriere Library.
Rudd encourages community members of all ages to drop by the library and ask about more programs, activities and check out some great reading material.
