North Thompson Communities Foundation Voices - Barriere Block Party

The North Thompson Communities Foundation will be welcoming one and all during the 2025 Barriere Block Party on June 21

The North Thompson Communities Foundation (NTCF) will be taking part in the ‘Welcome Summer Block Party’ in Barriere on Saturday, June 21, at Fadear Park. The event will begin at 3:00 p.m. and run until 9:00 p.m.

“Any time the Foundation can participate in a local event we jump all over it. It’s an opportunity for us to connect with the people and share who we are and what we do throughout the valley," said NTCF chair Louise Lodge.

The event will have something for everyone of all ages such as vendors, bands, food, a kids’ area with a bouncy castle and lawn games, a local Show n’ Shine car show and beer gardens along with other refreshments suitable for families.

The NTCF will have an information tent set up during the event as well as selling tickets for the upcoming foundation raffle. Tickets will be $5 each with seven great prizes donated by local organizations and people in the North Thompson Valley.

"All proceeds will go towards our Youth Fund and youth bursaries," said Lodge.

The prizes include:

  • Two four-hour rafting trips from Interior Whitewater Expeditions
  • Two greens and cart rentals from Chinook Cove Golf and RV
  • Two adult River Safari trips in Blue River by River Safari Tours
  • One tandem paragliding experience with XSky Paragliding
  • One gift certificate for Kamloops Paint Party in Kamloops
  • A family Movie Pass from B. Dunn Construction

“We hope that residents in the North Thompson Valley will join us for some fun, food, information and a memorable afternoon and evening block party. We are looking forward to seeing a good turn out,” said Lodge.
